http://www.collectededitions.com/marvel/features/ce_spotlight_111215.htmlCE SPOTLIGHT: There’s a lot of hope that Deadly Hands of Kung Fu, the ’70s-era black-and-white magazine, will find its way to a collection as well, since there’s a lot of Shang-Chi (and other stories) in there. Do you think you might mix it up with the Master of Kung Fu books, or do you think it should be in its own line?
CORY: Those hopes are well-founded. Deadly Hands of Kung Fu has Shang-Chi, Iron Fist, the Sons of the Tiger, and a lot of other great comics and kung-fu features. Neal Adams did amazing covers and there are stories by Moench, Gulacy, George Pérez and Chris Claremont, not to forget Rudy Nebres’ stellar inkwash art! Like MOKF, DHKF has never been reprinted.
Shang-Chi’s Deadly Hands of Kung Fu adventures didn’t share direct continuity with Master of Kung Fu – and with so many other killer features in DHKF, we don’t want to do Shang-Chi-only DHKF collections. DHKF will be its own separate Omnibus line. It will collect the complete issues, not just the comic stories, and we’ll be doing it in two big volumes to preserve story breaks.
