Sam Huntington (official site) has been cast as Daily Planet cub reporter Jimmy Olsen in Bryan Singer's Superman, says The Hollywood Reporter.

The cast includes Brandon Routh as Clark Kent/Superman, Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor, Hugh Laurie as Daily Planet editor-in-chief Perry White and James Marsden as Richard White.

Kate Bosworth is in negotiations to play Lois Lane.

Huntington previously starred in such films as "Jungle 2 Jungle," "Detroit Rock City," "Not Another Teen Movie," and "Sleepover.

Eva Marie Saint is Martha Kent in Superman

The Hollywood Reporter says that Eva Marie Saint (pictured on the left here) has joined the Superman cast:

Eva Marie Saint will play Martha Kent, the adoptive mother of Clark Kent/Superman in Bryan Singer's Superman film for Warner Bros. Pictures. Brandon Routh is playing Superman. Saint, who starred in the Alfred Hitchcock classic "North by Northwest," co-stars in Wayne Wang's "Because of Winn-Dixie," to be released by 20th Century Fox on Feb. 18, and will also appear in Wim Wenders' "Don't Come Knocking," to be released by Sony Pictures Classics in the fall.

MSN Movies has an interesting article talking about how the shooting dates for X-Men 3 and Superman conflict. Here's a clip:

According to my sources, 20th Century Fox nixed the idea of up-and-coming Ashmore starring in Warner Bros' new Superman feature. Fox is telling actors who have options for the third, untitled X-Men film that it will begin shooting June 20th. That conflicts with "Superman Returns'" spring shooting schedule, which is anticipated to go through July 30.

Pues para mi que le iba mejor al papel a Tom Welling que con Smallville ya tiene experiencia en cuestiones Kryptonianas. Pq han cogido la metrosexual este al final??No era mas logico que fuera Welling???

en mi opinión tom welling es metrosexual, aunque lo prefería para el papel.
Pero verlo en Smallville junto a Rosenbaum, y en la peli junto a Spacey hubiera sido "rarito"

Who's Playing a Young Clark in Superman?

We received an anonymous tip that young newcomer Stephen Bender has been cast as 15-year-old Clark Kent in director Bryan Singer's Superman. You can view a picture of Bender at The Artists Management Network, where it seems to confirm this casting.

Singer previously said that the first two "Superman" films would serve as a sort of vague history, and that this new version will pick up after Superman has been gone for 6 years. Taking this into consideration, Bender might be seen in flashback scenes.
